Woollysoul

Woollysoul is a solo project of RI-based musician Erik Wohlgemuth. The music drifts between folk baroque, American primitive guitar and indie folk. Sparse lyrics and non-standard guitar tunings at times lead to meditative moments of introspection.

Erik has been playing solo music in the Providence, RI area since the early 2000s. Since 2007, Erik has been playing banjo with punk sea shanty band Sharks Come Cruisin. Previously, he was an original member of Providence-based band Barn Burning, appearing on their first record. In 2005 Erik was a Music Composition Merit Award recipient from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts in their Individual Artists Fellowship program.
